New rules for carry-on bags with Ryanair

Ryanair is introducing a new lower cost 10kg checked bag and changing their carry-on bag policy:

1 – For Priority Boarding customers – 2 free carry-on bags included

  • 1 ‘small’ carry-on bag <10kg (40 x 20 x 25cm)
  • 1 Additional bag with a weight <10kg and a maximum size (42 x 20 x 30 cm)

2 – For Non-Priority Boarding customers – Only 1 free carry-on bag included

  • Only 1 ‘small’ carry-on bag <10kg (40 x 20 x 25cm) will be allowed onboard for free
  • Any other bags will be charged and need to be checked in at the check-in desk.

When booking on Egencia website, make sure you have chosen the right experience for your flight:

  • ‘STANDARD’ fare (cheapest) does NOT include Priority Boarding, so you can bring only 1 small carry-on item.
  • ‘PLUS’ or ‘FLEXI PLUS’ fares include Priority Boarding and 2 free carry-on bags.

This will apply for all Ryanair flights departing on/after the 1st November.

  • If you booked your flight before the 1st September: you can ask Ryanair to either buy a priority boarding and add it to your booking or cancel it for a full refund.
  • If you booked your flight the on/after the 1st September: the new rule applies
